Our friend Albert is amazing. Not only does he have the sweetest soul in the world, he can cook a darn good dinner in between – watching the hockey game – sweeping the snow off the patio – grilling – chopping – stirring – and skewering – all while entertaining us with his infectious laughter. And it was his birthday too.
He made tiny little bite-size quiche filled with extra old cheddar and double-smoked bacon (each and every single one from scratch – including the pastry), sauteed mushrooms in a balsamic reduction, beef tenderloin on the rotisserie, and grilled swordfish kabobs served with a cilantro pesto. Everything was outstanding. The fancy-pants french butter was dreamy…I could’ve eat gobs of it…(actually, I did eat gobs of it). We love you Al, happy birthday.
Me: “Have you always cooked?”
Albert: “Ever since I got married.”
Deirdre Pickford - yummmm – that beef tenderloin on the spit looks so tasty….:)
Jill - That’s Al, he’s an incredible cook!
