Hong Kong, part 2

This is my dear friend Camellia, she’s an art director for Harper’s Bazaar and Cosmopolitan in Hong Hong. We’ve known each forever since working together in Toronto in the late 80’s. Boy, does that make me sound ancient! Although I haven’t seen her for 15 years, it feels like just yesterday whenever we get together.

This is her busband Jeffrey, he is a fashion photographer, and he loves to make her happy.

So, back to that fish market that these folks brought us to…so much fun and so much food. Thank you guys for a great evening! And thanks to the late, great Angie for sharing this bottle. A toast to you…

This is an appetizer of a thousand year-old eggs. I purposely left the image full size, so that you could see that creamy texture!

My guay-lo hubby is such a good sport, he’ll try anything…

Look at him, he’s lying…that smirk says it all…he’ll spit it out when I’m not looking.

Fresh shrimp, sweet and delicious dipped in a light soya with grated ginger.

Giant prawns stirfried in garlic and ferment black beans.

Remember that angry-eyed cuttle fish? Yummy. Fresh scallop in shell topped with vermicelli and garlic.

Steamed mystery fish, and bamboo clam stirfry.

I’m sure these are very good in the chili sauce, but ever since I’ve seen them in the garden, I can’t eat them.

This trip to Asia has been amazing. Thanks to my mom for taking us on this journey.
I need another nap.
